Terry Shepherd began writing fiction as therapy. He ended up creating an iconic Latina detective and a timeless children's Covid-19 prevention classic.

Terry was an absolute joy and pleasure to record with. He’s fun, empathetic, energetic, and kind. I’m sure that comes through easily in the recording. Two things I want to mention that came up in this episode.

  1. You are amazing. You have something to offer that no one else does. You are unique and there is no one else who has had your exact experiences. That means you literally do have something to offer that not a single other person has. Accept your unique awesomeness, lean into it, and see that beauty and magic that comes.

  2. Boundaries, boundaries, boundaries. The people you spend time with need to be people who add to your life. People who love you, encourage you, support you, and help you to be better. If the people in your inner circle do not add to your life, but make it harder, then they do not belong in your inner circle.

Now go out and love yourself. Forever and always.
