International Bestselling Author Kathrin Hutson is a full-time writer of Dark Fantasy, Dystopian Sci-Fi, and LGBTQ+ Speculative Fiction. She is also a wife, a mom (to two dogs and a human), an addiction survivor, a lover of darkness, a constant observer, a happily severe introvert, and probably more insane than she suspects.

I’m going to split this up into two parts.

For Parents:

You are responsible for your child. Period. Your child relies on you for a safe space. For comfort. Love. Safety. Everything. You are your child’s everything. Take that responsibility seriously. Always.

For everyone:

Notice what’s going on for other people. Especially if you are in a position where you work with kids (I’m including teenagers in this). There are always signs. Always. Do what you can to learn about signs to look out for.

Also, be the safe space. Be a safe space for anyone you come into contact with. Some people don’t have a safe space, but you have the ability to create one for them. You really do.

It all comes down to just being kind. Be kind. Be loving. And start by being kind to yourself. Start by loving yourself.
